For the first- and definitely not the last- last Saturday (April 30th) saw the first UK Seahawkers chapter national meet. What is apparently the largest gathering of 12’s outside of North America went down an absolute storm in Manchester, England.
Organised through the hard work of Sean and Claire Wilson the event saw nearly 70 Seahawks fans converge on the function room in central Manchester and talk, laugh, meet and catch up with new, old and reluctant friends! Ha!
Entertainment for the night was provided by Birmingham singer-songwriter James Valentine Byrne and a special guest of the evening was longtime Sky Sports NFL presenter/host, former Basketball coach and now Author Kevin Cadle spend a few hours during the evening talking to the assembled 12’s, taking photos, signing copies of his book ‘The Cadle Will Rock’ and giving a brief speech.
Elsewhere, the memory of our late President Ian Robert Smith was remembered by the new President Deano Galione’s speech to start proceedings ending with a toast to the man who left us far too early and in the form of a very successful charity auction with all proceeds- at last count £800 was thought to have been raised- going to a cause close to Ian’s heart.
The items on sale included a few of his cherished Seahawks memorabilia and a original print canvas designed and put forward by UK Seahawker and Graphic Design don Gordon Currie. That print itself raised almost £200.
Special mention should go to a few people as well
Bill and Cindy White flew from Seattle for a 2-week European holiday and joined in the fun and if ever in Seattle are two people you should look to cross paths with!
Nick Catephores and Maximillian Lange who flew over from mainland Europe and also joined in the fun- with both picking up a few raffle prizes!

Thank you to all that attended, Sean and Claire for all their hard work organising and the bar staff at the Deansgate Pub in Manchester for putting up with our thirsty habits for the evening!
Until we do it all again!
